Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 13, 2026
At OmniCollect, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, process, and protect your personal information when you use our cataloging and collector platform.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, as well as data generated automatically during your use of the Platform:
- Account Data: Email address, password hash, username, optional full name, and general location (e.g., city/state) provided upon registration.
- Collection & Inventory Data: Items added to your collection, item status (for trade, wishlist, private collection), custom notes, purchase history, and images you upload.
- Communication Data: Messages exchanged with other users in the Message Center, trade offer details, and tickets submitted to our Support Team.
- Technical & Log Data: Browser type and IP address captured for security events (logins, chat messages, support tickets) and stored in audit logs.
- Usage Analytics: Pages you visit, the referring site, device type (mobile/tablet/desktop), browser and operating system, approximate country, region and city, and an anonymized IP prefix. Collected for both registered and guest visitors to understand how the Platform is used. IPs are anonymized before storage (the last octet of IPv4 addresses and the host part of IPv6 addresses are removed) and full IPs are never stored in the analytics tables.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain your personal inventory and workspace.
- To facilitate peer-to-peer interactions, trade proposals, and communications in the Trade Center.
- To deliver real-time notifications (e.g., trade status updates, support replies, direct messages via WebSocket).
- To verify account authenticity, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To respond to support requests and troubleshoot platform issues.
- To send optional product updates or newsletters (if you explicitly opted in).
- To analyze aggregate usage patterns (which pages are visited, from which country, and on which device) in order to improve the Platform and prioritize features.
3. Information Sharing & Public Visibility
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.
Depending on your account settings, certain information is visible on the Platform:
- Public Profile & Public Inventory: Your username, location (if set), and items marked for trade or public cataloging can be viewed by other registered collectors.
- Private Items: Items marked as private in your inventory are visible only to you.
- Service Providers: Infrastructure services (e.g., database hosting, storage, transaction mail providers) process data strictly on our behalf under technical and contractual safeguards.
4. Data Storage and Security
We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical measures to safeguard your personal information (including secure password hashing, HTTPS encryption in transit, and restricted database access). However, no internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
Omni uses essential cookies and browser local storage to maintain session authentication tokens (JWTs), store user interface preferences (such as dark mode), preserve your active sessions, and assign a visitor identifier cookie (_vid) used solely to count unique visitors in aggregate usage analytics. If your browser sends Do Not Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals, the Platform does not collect usage analytics from you.
6. Your Rights & Data Control
You have complete control over your data within Omni:
- Access & Update: You can edit or remove your profile information and inventory entries at any time via your Settings and My Inventory.
- Email Preferences: You can opt out of marketing communications using the link at the bottom of any update email.
- Account Deletion: You may request full account and data deletion by contacting our support team. Upon verification, all your personal inventory records and account credentials will be permanently purged.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect platform updates or legal requirements. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page or via in-app announcements.
8. Contact Us
